New themed retail mall to break ground in central Ohio

Plans for what is being called the country's first “home shopping center” have begun in Jeffersonville, Ohio.

The “home-themed” HomeWorks, a redesign of a former outlet center, will offer over 300,000 square feet of retail space subdivided to accommodate what Gregory Boyle, president of The Boyle Group (Malvern, Pa.), says “could be retailers in baby furniture, closets, appliances, gardening, sunrooms, drapes, bedding, you name it. We are looking for both local and national retailers to offer shoppers a convenient one-stop location to buy virtually anything for their homes.”

The center, roughly equidistant from four major metro areas (Cincinnati, Dayton, Springfield and Columbus, Ohio) and numerous colleges and universities, has announced that it is accepting tenant applications.

“As Americans are spending more time cocooning at home, we felt it was the ideal time to introduce a unique retail concept to fit this emerging marketplace,” said Boyle, whose retail consulting firm is assisting in the leasing of the center. “As of now there is no single home shopping destination in the country that will offer the variety and number of stores that will be featured at HomeWorks.”
