Kenneth Cole Productions (New York) has announced an agreement in principle with Haggar Clothing Co. (Dallas) to produce a line of Kenneth Cole men's pants in the United States.

The line will be offered at retail for fall 2003 to better department stores and Kenneth Cole and Reaction retail stores.

“Introduction into the men's classification pant business is an exciting opportunity for Kenneth Cole Productions,” said company president Paul Blum. “We are confident our brand recognition, design aesthetic and renowned marketing will make a significant difference to attract a younger and more modern customer to the men's classification area in department stores. The relationships Haggar has with department stores and the company's ability to market brands certainly positions this line for success.”

“We embrace the vision and entrepreneurial spirit of the Kenneth Cole organization and are excited about this unique multi-branded licensing relationship,” said Haggar president and ceo Frank Bracken. “The strength of the Kenneth Cole brand, coupled with the long-standing expertise in innovative fabric development, modern silhouette design and quality workmanship of Haggar, provides us with a strong business opportunity that extends into multiple distribution channels at retail.”

Kenneth Cole Productions nationally recognized fashion brands for women include: Kenneth Cole New York, Reaction Kenneth Cole and Unlisted. In addition to the roughly 4100 stores that carry its products, Kenneth Cole Productions owns and operates a chain of retail stores across the country with worldwide distribution in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
