Luxury jeweler and watchmaker David Yurman has announced the establishment of David Yurman, SA, a new company in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Neuchatel, Switzerland.

The new Swiss company will produce 100 percent Swiss-manufactured luxury timepieces. Yurman says the La Chaux-de-Fonds office will provide technical development and distribution of the timepieces.

“For nearly 20 years, my wife Sybil (president and chief marketing officer) and I have exhibited at the Basel International Watch & Jewelry Fair,” Yurman explained. “We have always admired the Swiss luxury watch industry for its high and uncompromising standards of quality and workmanship. Neuchatel is and has always been the epicenter of fine luxury timepieces. We are delighted to be a part of this community.”

In North America, his watch and jewelry collections are currently sold primarily through retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and select jewelers throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico. Yurman limits his jewelry distribution to 450 doors worldwide and is even more selective with his watches, limiting distribution to 200 doors.

Yurman has established over 25 in-store boutiques within these retail locations and three years ago opened his first flagship store, on New York's Madison Avenue. He recently opened a second store, at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif.
