Dollar Parts Company with General

Donald Shaffer, president and coo of Dollar General Corp. (Goodlettsville, Tenn.), has resigned effective May 7, 2003 “to pursue other opportunities.”

Shaffer had been in the position since May 2001. He also served as acting ceo from November 2002 until early April 2003.

David Perdue, the discount retailer's ceo, said the company has initiated a search for a replacement.
