Nora Lighting appoints regional manager; WD Partners opens Colorado office; Horst Design Intl. earns

Management Changes:

Nora Lighting (Commerce, Calif., lighting products and accessories manufacturer) has appointed Michael Collier as its Northeast regional manager, responsible for sales in that area. He previously was regional manager at Con-Tech Lighting.

Nimlok Co. (Niles, Ill., display and exhibit manufacturer) announced the retirement of Gordon Wheeler, founding president of Nimlok Canada. Wheeler will remain an independent consultant to the company. John Sanginesi will succeed Wheeler as president. Sanginesi, who joined the company 14 years ago, most recently held a senior management position in sales and marketing.

Howard Industries Ballast products(Laurel, Miss., ballast producer) has added Scott Stephens as national accounts manager. Stephens is responsible for developing specifications for Howard Ballast products for national accounts.

TSAO Designs Inc. (Bridgeport, Conn., lighting designer and manufacturer) has appointed Hollees Goldman as sales representative for TSAO lighting products for Connecticut and southwestern Massachusetts.

Relocations:

New World Restaurant Group Inc.'s Eastern U.S. headquarters (Eatontown, N.J., restaurant chain operator) to 100 Horizon Center Blvd., Hamilton Township, N.J., 08691. Phone: 800-859-3090, 609-631-7000. The 13,200-square-foot facility also houses a training center, product development kitchen and model of the latest Manhattan Bagel store prototype.

Business Briefs:

WD Partners (Columbus, Ohio, architectural and engineering firm) has opened an office in Golden, Colo. a suburb of Denver, to serve new and existing clients in the Rocky Mountain region. Steven Schwartz has been hired to direct the office. He recently served as national construction manger for Children's World Learning Centers. WD Partners also has offices in Chicago; Columbus, Ohio; Dallas; Los Angeles and Miami.

Graj+Gustavsen (New York brand development and licensing firm) is working with OshKosh (Oshkosh, Wis., apparel manufacturer) to expand the retail company from being a children's brand into an outfitter for the whole family. Graj+Gustavsen is developing strategy and positioning, retail store design, adult product design, advertising, corporate identity and packaging.

Accenta Display Corp. (Mississauga, Ont., display designer and manufacturer) is expanding its sales and marketing operations to the U.S. The division will be headquartered in Southern California, with sales representatives in key markets throughout the country.

Awards & Competitions:

Horst Design Intl. (HDI, Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y., architectural planning and design firm) was awarded a 2003 Marvin Windows and Doors Annual Yellow Rose Regional Recognition award for its contribution to renovating and upgrading the Century 21 department store at Ground Zero in New York. The award program recognizes building industry professionals for their work promoting the advancement of community. HDI's work included the redesign and merchandise planning of the 30,000-square-foot space that housed Century 21's Home/Housewares/Domestics and Men's/Children's shoe departments.
