Artitalia Group announces management changes; Seaman Corp. expands plant; Rothenberg Sawasy Architects' prototype design wins award

Management Changes:


Artitalia Group (Montreal fixturing, furniture and visual merchandising solutions manufacturer) has announced the following management changes: Enzo Vardaro, vp, marketing and design; Jeff Kastner, vp, sales; Nick Vardaro, vp, operations, International Visual Corp. (IVC); Vinny Faviano, president, IVC; and Nicholas Vardaro, president, Hemsley division. In addition, Artitalia Group has hired Richard Kauffman as vp, business development; Steve Demartino, consultant; Guy D'Aguanno, account executive; and Dale Ginger, director of design development.

SierraPine Ltd. (Roseville, Calif., composite panels manufacturer) has named Bill Black president and Wade Gregory vp, sales and marketing. Black most recently was vp, particleboard and medium density fiberboard for Willamette Industries. Gregory has served as general manager of SierraPine's Martell, Calif., plant since 1997.

BHDP Architecture (Cincinnati architecture firm) has announced the following promotions: Gregory Kissel to principal; Don Elsen and Kevin Meyer to associate principals; and Dara Baldridge, Brad Dunn and Scott McClure to associates.

Poretta & Orr (Doylestown, Pa., communications firm) has added Susanne Andrey to its sales team, responsible for business development and brand strategy. Andrey has held a strategic partnership with the firm for nearly two decades, producing graphics for corporate exhibit properties and special events.

Business Briefs:


Lange Wheeler Design Group LLC (Cincinnati design firm) has changed its name to Swath Design LLC, reflecting the firm's mission to bring new perspectives and enthusiasm to clients' design strategies.

Seaman Corp. (Wooster, Ohio, industrial fabrics designer and manufacturer) has completed a $7 million expansion project of its primary manufacturing facility. The project included increasing production capacity and installing a hot melt calender coating line.

Rothenberg Sawasy Architects (Los Angeles architecture firm) has designed the plans for Wuhan City Plaza, a 1.3-million-square-foot mixed-use urban development, slated to open in the fall of 2004 in Wuhan, China, 700 miles west of Shanghai. Construction has begun on the project, which includes a nine-story department store, six levels of retail and several restaurants and entertainment venues.

The Shops at West End (Cleveland), a 40,000-square-foot retail project being developed by CenterPoint Properties and its West End development partners, Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate (Cincinnati), has announced that it aims to be the largest “green” retail development in the nation. Plans call for the core and shell of the building to reach a minimum of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, as designated by the U.S. Green Building Council. All tenants will be encouraged to meet the same LEED criteria with their space designs.

4walls.com (Cleveland manufacturer and supplier of digitally printed wallcoverings) has completed the design and installation of a wall mural at the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation. The mural depicts hot air balloons floating over well-known landmarks from around the world.
