H&M Adding Huge New York Location

H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB (Stockholm) has announced plans for its largest store in the world, a 63,000-square-foot, multi-level space on New York’s Herald Square.

The store, due to open in the fall of 2014 in the Herald Center building across from Macy’s flagship department store, will include the full panoply of apparel offerings – women’s, men’s, sport, maternity, plus sizes and children’s — plus , accessories, cosmetics and home.

Although H&M currently has two stores on 34th Street within a few blocks of Herald Square, Women’s Wear Daily reports that plans are to keep both stores open and operating as they currently are.

“There’s a lot of traffic in that area,” Daniel Kulle, president of H&M North America, told WWD. “As we’ve done before, we’re keeping all the stores open in close proximity to each other.”
