Lifestyle for the Rich

New Cincinnati-area open-air center will aim for affluent shoppers' hearts and minds

A new landscaped, open-air “lifestyle center” has been announced for Deerfield Township, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati.

The 430,000-square-foot project, currently under development, has commitments from Talbot's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Z Gallery, Ann Taylor, Bed Bath & Beyond, Arhaus Furniture and Borders Books, among several others.

The location, which developers say will cater to women 25 to 55 years of age, is within three miles of 68,000 households with an average income of $100,000. That, they say, is the demographic that prefers to avoid enclosed malls large parking lots, long corridors and the crowds attracted by theaters, restaurants and arcades.
