Judges fell in love with Marshall Fields' celebration of Chicago's independent designers with an exclusive Chicago Designer Shop featuring fashion merchandise from 20 local emerging stylists [or artists — too many 'designers'].

“It's trying to foster the fashion industry here in Chicago,” says Jon Jones, senior visual specialist for Marshall Field's.

A large black-and-white group photo of the featured designers served as a backdrop inside the space, while graphic column wraps and a skyline silhouette around the parapet further called attention to the boutique. Mannequins and ceiling hanging fixtures displayed the one-of-a-kind threads.

“It has a lot of personality,” said one judge.
