Neiman's Announces Executive Changes

Neva Hall to head retail operations; other top-level merchandise managers receive promotions

The Neiman Marcus Group Inc. (Dallas) has made five changes in its executive lineup.

Neva Hall has been named executive vp of Neiman Marcus Stores, responsible for the operations of the 35 full-line Neiman Marcus Stores and the Last Call clearance centers. Hall, a 19-year Neiman Marcus veteran, had been senior vp, gmm, responsible for women's shoes, cosmetics, handbags and fashion accessories.

Ann Stordahl, currently senior vp, gmm, for women's ready-to-wear, will assume Hall's previous responsibilities for the merchandise categories of handbags, shoes, fashion accessories and intimate apparel. Stordahl will also be responsible for the company's fashion office in New York. Stordahl will continue to report to Katz. She joined Neiman Marcus Stores in 1992 as vp, divisional merchandise manager, and was promoted in 1995.

James Gold has been named senior vp, gmm, responsible for the men's and cosmetics and fragrances merchandise categories. He had been division merchandise manager for designer sportswear.

Ron Goddard has been named senior vp, merchandise planning, with overall responsibility for merchandise planning and analysis. He had been vp, strategic planning.

All of the above will report directly to Karen Katz, the new president and ceo of Neiman Marcus Stores.

Brendan Hoffman has been named president and ceo Neiman Marcus Direct, responsible for the company's direct-to-consumer segment (which includes the Neiman Marcus, Horchow and Chef's catalogs, as well as all on-line operations). Hoffman, who had been vp, director of Last Call Clearance Store in the Neiman Marcus Stores division, will report to president and ceo Burton Tansky.
