Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. (Danbury, Conn.) has unveiled the next phase of its reinvention by opening a new 35,000-square-foot flagship store in Alpharetta, Ga.

The new flagship store replaces a smaller store directly across the street. The updated contemporary design features a new interior and exterior and offers a more open and approachable shopping experience. Large front display windows give customers a peek into Ethan Allen's offerings and will serve as the company's billboard to the Alpharetta community.

“During these turbulent economic times, it is important for companies to continuously reinvent themselves to foster new growth and strengthen their position in the marketplace,” says Farooq Kathwari, chairman and ceo, Ethan Allen Interiors. “The new Ethan Allen store design illustrates a major part of our business strategy to reinvent our brand, which will enable us to reach more consumers.”

The new showroom is flooded with natural light from a pyramid style 20-by-20-foot skylight. Additional skylights are located in the rear of the store and the design center, where Ethan Allen design consultants meet with their clients to select fabrics and wallpaper for their design projects.

Also new to the interior design of the store are specialty areas focusing on particular product groupings, including soft goods, area rugs, home office, leather and outdoor furniture shops.

A 3800-square-foot display of the new Ethan Allen Kids and Baby product line and the company's newest collection, New Country by Ethan Allen, were unveiled during the grand opening. In addition to its new approach to juvenile furnishings, the company is launching a multi-tiered marketing campaign that includes plans to open two individual Ethan Allen Kids stores by the end of 2003, a store within a store concept, as well as a national television advertising campaign.
