Sears to Spin Off Lands’ End

Sears Holdings Corp. (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) appears ready to spin off its Lands’ End mail order business.

Lands’ End Inc. (Dodgeville, Wis.) filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission intending to distribute the company to shareholders.

Sears said as early as October that it was considering separating Lands’ End and its auto center unit to raise cash.
