Adam Hayes, a New York-based lighting designer, won a clean sweep in this year’s annual LSI/Gene Moore Award competition. The contest, sponsored by Lighting Services Inc (Stony Point, N.Y.) and named for Tiffany’s iconic display executive, recognizes “the talent, creativity and magic of display window designers and their ability to create a three-dimensional art form” through imaginative lighting, while establishing store image and motivating buyers.

Hayes, the first Triple Crown winner in the 17-year history of the competition, won first, second and third place prizes for his work for Tiffany’s and Cole Haan.

The first-prize winner, called “Birds of a Feather,” graced five Tiffany windows in New York, each featuring silhouette cut-outs of birds feathering their nests with jewels. As per the contest rules, Hayes illuminated the windows with LSI products: two circuit tracks with low-voltage MR-16 lamps, low-voltage AR111 lamps and line-voltage PAR30 lamps with a variety of color filters. – SK
