Senior Retail Designer - Neiman Marcus

The Sr. Designer is responsible for multi-level design within Neiman Marcus, CUSP and Last Call stores. In this role the candidate must be able to design in a fast paced dynamic environment. This position requires a strong design sensibility within the luxury market.
 
Responsibilities:
-Design special projects that relate to design development for Neiman Marcus Full Line Stores, CUSP, Last Call and Last Call Studio
- Compile and deliver creative design solutions
- Communicate effectively via verbal and drawing skills; understands and tailors presentations to the audience.  
-Collaborate with design team to keep current on NM designs.
-Prepare presentation materials and make internal presentations to Senior management. (Hand Rendering, Sketch-up and Photo Shop skills are Preferred.)
-Negotiates with vendors to ensure brand integrity is upheld (i.e. cost proposals; finish approvals, shop drawing approvals)
- Respond quickly to changing business conditions, design prototypes, or material developments.
-Able to identify and propose solutions to resolve issues that can impact project schedule, cost, or design integrity on multiple projects. Advocate consistency and coordinated efforts.
-Build strong relationships with Vendors
-Communicate findings to larger design team as applicable to other design projects.

Qualifications:
- 7-10 years’ experience in interior design; retail interior design preferred
-5 years of experience managing multiple high level design projects
-5 years of experience managing vendor relations and negotiating contracts
-3-5 years of experience giving presentations to management and Executives
-Proficiencies in Hand Rendering and Sketching a plus.
-Proficiencies in Mac and PC, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office   Word, Excel and Sketch Up or 3D programs
-Good collaborator and partners with multiple individuals to ensure best solution.
-Proactive work style and good follow up skills.
-Positive attitude towards change and speed
-Open to new processes, ambiguity, and developing new relationships.
