Jack Hruska, a veteran of Federated Department Stores (Cincinnati), will become executive vp, creative services, for the company’s New York-based Bloomingdale’s division, effective Feb. 6, 2006.

Hruska’s responsibilities will include store planning, visual merchandising, creative advertising and special events.

“It’s an opportunity to create a cohesive brand message,” Hruska said, “consistent in the outside media and in the stores.”

Bloomingdale’s, the luxury Federated brand, currently has 33 stores with plans, already announced, for new stores in San Francisco, San Diego, Costa Mesa, Calif., Chevy Chase, Md., and the relocation of its Boston store at Chestnut Hill.

Hruska will relocate to New York, where he had previously been senior vp, visual merchandising and store planning, for Bloomingdale’s. He moved to company headquarters in Cincinnati in 2005 as divisional vp, store planning and design.

Hruska will remain a member of the VM+SD editorial advisory board.
