Borders Books "tunes" in to new technology

E-Listening kiosks to be included

Published

on

Select locations of Borders Books and Music stores will introduce E-listening kiosks. Head-phoned customers can listen (start to finish) to virtually any music in the retailer's inventory – by simply scanning the barcode.

The digital, interactive kiosks are powered by Advanced Communication Design's Star System. Customers can listen to approximately 750 music titles that will rotate on a weekly basis.

The first store to feature the kiosk opens in Brentwood, Tenn., June 14. A store on Chicago's Michigan Avenue will be next. The retailer plans to include kiosks in all new stores opening after November.
