figure3 took home an Award of Excellence at the VODAs (Value of Design Awards) in Vancouver on Friday night, as part of the Interior Designers of Canada 2019 Design Symposium.
They won for: Innovation in Retail Design: Surterra Wellness (Tampa, Florida)
The Value of Design Awards celebrate Canadian interior designers who showcase the benefits of design thinking: an empathetic, inventive and iterative process focused on the human experience within interior spaces. In addition, VODA aims to demonstrate the positive human and business impact of design thinking for the people and companies who hire a professional interior designer. The focus goes beyond aesthetics and highlights the benefits and outcome of the project for the end users.
“It’s gratifying to be recognized for not only a beautifully designed project but, more importantly, a space that puts the human experience at the center of the design,” says Suzanne Bettencourt, Principal at figure3. “Having a strong partnership with clients who truly value the design thinking process and understand how physical space can greatly impact their business is key to project innovation and success. We are honored to be recognized for the innovation we’re delivering.”
“Before engaging figure3, we believed we had a very good idea of how to display and merchandise our products to patients. Their Connection Point process produced a design that challenges the industry status quo, and we couldn’t be happier. The research revealed an underlying theme that is absolutely core to our brand and business. It helped us refine everything from our store design to our packaging and branding, and our real estate strategy as a whole. figure3 has been an invaluable partner as we’ve breathed life into our concepts in this new and changing industry.”
