FootAction debuted its new “city street” design at the Puente Hills Mall in City of Industry, Calif. The 5,000-sq.-ft. store, designed by Carlile/Coatsworth/Shankweiler Architects Inc., Irvine, Calif., includes a redesigned concrete-and-metal exterior, exposed ceilings inside, and a racetrack-shaped pedestrian pathway rather than the typical single-drive aisle. A bank of wall-mounted video monitors on the shoe wall broadcasts a wide range of programming, from music videos to sports and action images designed to appeal to FootAction's target customer–14- to 16-year-old urban teenagers.
