Bankrupt Houston retailer getting rid of stores

In an effort to return to profitability, Stage Stores Inc. (Houston) announced it is looking to get rid of 107 of its store sites in 30 states, with 23 locations up for grabs in Texas alone. The average size of the stores is 20,000 square feet. Stage Stores filed for bankruptcy in June and said at the time that it would shutter 120 underperforming stores in July.
