BARRIE, ON: The Look Company (TLC) swept First, Second and Third place at the print industry’s most prestigious and recognized awards at the 2019 FESPA Global Print Expo.  TLC is the first company in the award’s history to capture all three coveted trophies.  Ed Burke, Founder and Chair of The Look Company says “We’re making print history, and I’m proud of our worldwide teams and our accomplishments.  Our work is world-class and we’re happy to be recognized as industry leaders by our peers and supporting organizations.”

The First-place award celebrates the exceptional scale of work in creating environmental branding for the 30,000 seat Saskatchewan Roughriders | Mosaic Stadium.  The project included design, print production and installation of frame and fabric prints. For the project, TLC brought together a vision that combined over 150,000 printed square feet (14,000 m2) of concourse, field-of-play, football operations and premium seating graphics to create a truly cohesive in-stadium look. TLC also understood that to make an experience great, it was necessary to create truly custom applications no one has seen before.  To that end, TLC and the stakeholders of Mosaic Stadium set out to complete a variety of custom structures in addition to its full stadium coverage.

All-in-all, the project took over three years to fully complete and is a testament to TLC’s inclusive production style. “We keep all of our design, engineering, production, logistics and installation managers in-house.  By doing so we control the quality of our products and support our clients visual printing needs. We use a vast IP knowledgebase which gives us the ability to control timelines and production resources,” says Gerry Prince, CEO of The Look Company’s Canadian Division.  “All of this control allows us to export a truly world-class display product that meets and exceeds our customers requirements.”

The second and third prize went to TLC’s Middle East division for its work with the Qatar Open, and Shop Qatar initiatives.   Both of these were high volume, customized environments which required optimal ft and control of fabric substrates.

ABOUT THE LOOK COMPANY: TLC is based in Barrie & Toronto, Canada, Geneva, Switzerland and Doha Qatar, and produces world-class visually branded environments for Global Sport, Event and Retail clients such as the Olympics, FIFA,  IAAF, Under Armour and Samsung among countless others.  The Look Company’s continued focus is to drive innovation and to deliver unique visual experiences for each of its clients.
