The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) is pleased to announce a collaboration with SketchUp for the 26th Annual Student Design Competition. The 2020 design competition is open to college students in retail planning, design, interior design, visual merchandising, store design, and branding programs.

This year’s PAVE Student Design Competition, recognizes that the role of technology in shaping design and architecture cannot be underestimated.  This has become more evident during the current pandemic we are experiencing.  Designers have been working from home in record numbers and we will see an increase in this trend.  SketchUp is a tool which allows us to envision three-dimensional space in new and exciting ways.

Students will be tasked with creating an innovative brand experience for SketchUp in the form of a pop-up space. The goal will be to develop a space which exploits the design potential that SketchUp offers, and leads to an increased number of SketchUp adopters. Students will select 4 of SketchUp’s target industries and design a pop-up experience which allows users to explore these industries through the use of SketchUp.

“PAVE is excited to announce this fantastic partnership with SketchUp for our 2020 Student Design Competition.  SketchUp is a valuable graphic tool in our industry and to be able to create an engaging “Pop Up” experience for them as a marketing tool enables us to connect them with our future design talent.  So, we encourage everyone to sign up and participate to be a part of this brand,” said Cindi Kato, Vice President, Global Retail Business Development Director at CallisonRTKL and PAVE President.

Information on the PAVE 2020 Student Design Competition, including the competition brief, registration, and FAQs are now available at www.paveglobal.org.
