Recently debuted in Ljubljana, Slovenia’s BTC shopping center, Addiko Bank Express (also based in Ljubljana) takes self-service to a new level. Here, customers can complete transactions, open an account, or even get a loan within 30 minutes – by themselves – regardless of whether they’re current Addiko Bank clients. Design firm Brigada (Zagreb, Croatia) relied on market research for the project, which helped to determine the biggest obstacles bank customers usually encounter, including how long the banking process takes, as well as possible ease-of-access issues when it comes to choosing and differentiating services. Its research also showed that most customers aren’t comfortable with a fully automated space, so a banker is on hand to help, if needed.
