Assistant Manager - Visual Merchandising - DC

Tiffany & Co. has an exciting opportunity for someone to oversee and maintain the visual merchandising standards & creative installations in the following Mid-Atlantic region.

The responsibilities include maintaining merchandise presentations based on Tiffany & Co. visual merchandising standards & planograms. Mentoring & monitoring the sales staff's knowledge of & involvement with display standards & merchandising strategies. Establishing and ensuring an effective cleaning schedule of showcases & display fixtures. Planning, preping, & installing creative merchandising installations based on design directive from corporate office, includes vitrines, table settings and show windows. Communicate on a regular basis with store management, VM regional management, & VM corporate offices regarding merchandising initiatives, display standards, & creative installations. Particpating in meetings & conference calls as required. Organizing & assisting as needed with the development & installation of traveling exhibits, collections, & special events. Follow-thru with photo documentation, as well as with the removal & shipping of exhibit/collection display materials. Maintaining a clean & organized work area, files, photos, & display material storage. Preparing appropriate display material orders & signage orders as required. Reconciling monthly display material purchasing and business travel expenses on Expense Reports. Developing an effective sensibility of general product knowledge - including new merchandise & evolving merchandising strategies.

 
Must possess 3-5 years experience in merchandising, visual display, styling, or related areas - preferably luxury retail. Must have exceptional organizational and communication skills. Must be ambitious, flexible, out-going, enthusiastic. Ablility to work with a variety of people, and present ideas and information to a group. Knowledgeable of local vendor sources for display supplies, hardware, props, furniture, flowers. Access to car or convenient transportation. Must live in, or within reasonable commute to the specified retail locations. Experience with basic construction hand tools and painting. Basic computer skills required: email/Outlook, Microsoft Excel & Word. Theatre or color display lighting experience a plus. Basic knowledge of jewelry and jewelry display forms a plus. Able to travel extensively as needed for store visits & installations.
